Arc Raiders: What's Coming in 2026 - New Map, Arc Threats, and More! (2026)

The roadmap for Arc Raiders has been unveiled by Embark Studios, and it's full of exciting developments such as a new map, additional Arc threats, and even some attention for the character Scrappy, all slated for release by April 2026.

This four-month strategy, outlined in a recent blog post titled "Escalation," reveals how the developers intend to broaden the engaging experience of this multiplayer extraction shooter. Players can anticipate a consistent influx of new quests, trials, items, cosmetics, and improvements to the overall gameplay experience, ensuring that Arc Raiders starts off strong in its first year since its release.

Each month is themed with a unique title that hints at what players can expect. For instance, January is dubbed "Headwinds," and despite being nearly over, there's still a notable feature on the horizon: a level 40+ matchmaking option. This enhancement aims to allow both PvE and PvP Raiders to engage in raids without the worry of facing opponents with significantly higher skills. Additionally, a new map condition signified by a bird icon, along with a fresh player project, are set to roll out before the month ends.

As we transition into February, marked as "Shrouded Sky," players can look forward to a series of smaller yet impactful updates. Similar to January, February will introduce a new map update, an updated Raider Deck, an Expedition Window, and another player project. More intriguingly, a new map condition featuring what appears to be a wind icon and a novel Arc threat will also debut next month.

March, labeled "Flashpoint," will bring forth yet another Arc threat, a new player project, and another map condition. The popular resource-collecting character, Scrappy, is also due for an update as winter draws to a close. However, it's April—titled "Riven Tides"—that promises the most substantial revelations for eager supporters. Embark plans to launch a new Arc Raiders map alongside a significant Arc threat. The teaser image shows only a skull, hinting at a formidable creature that will join the ranks of existing foes like the Matriarch and the Queen. Given the umbrella icon and the title of the month, it seems likely that this new locale could feature beaches or water-logged areas, which will eventually become littered with lost treasures and Raider flares.

Embark has ambitious plans as it enters 2026, with future content beyond May still under wraps. The studio aims to introduce new material each month. A new map is undoubtedly a highly anticipated update, though the timing of when further details about how this new setting will integrate into the game's PvPvE dynamics remains uncertain.

According to the blog post, "The increasing presence of ARC continues to trouble Shani as the Rustbelt faces growing challenges," but the full extent of the upcoming escalation is still unclear. Players are encouraged to prepare themselves as they venture into a Rustbelt that is becoming increasingly unstable.

Arc Raiders made its debut on October 30, 2025, and introduced its first new map, Stella Montis, in November. This creates a gap of roughly five months between the initial launch and the subsequent new map release. It's yet to be determined if Embark will maintain this release pace in the coming months and years.

While the team focuses on delivering fresh content following their winter break, they've also been dealing with the ongoing issue of cheaters in Arc Raiders. Recent efforts have included addressing vulnerabilities in the Stella Montis map while some content creators have faced scrutiny as part of this crackdown. Meanwhile, numerous players hope that late spawns in games will soon be resolved.
